Event Information

ONLINE REGISTRATION REQUIRED!

The 2nd Annual Peppersauce Stampede is scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd and features a scenic portion of the Arizona Trail set among the granite boulders and oak trees near Arizona Zipline Adventures.

The Stampede returns to the Peppersauce Roundup “Adventure Festival” hosted by Arizona Zipline Adventures located just outside of Oracle. The 2nd edition will offer folks the opportunity to travel one of southern Arizona's most historic gravel/dirt roads and a particularly scenic portion of the Arizona Trail located on the “back side” northern slopes of the Santa Catalina Mountains while friends and family await your return and enjoy the full day of festivities back at the Corral.

Runners will enjoy the remote rugged terrain and breathtaking open range views while challenging their physical and mental abilities in search of what it takes to stamp out the course.  True Grit! When you return, all finishers will receive an award symbolizing your achievement and are encouraged to celebrate and enjoy the live music, tasty eats, and cold beverages.

American Bunnyhop invites you to round up your posse of family and friends and enjoy the beauty and charm of Oracle.  Spend the weekend with us!

The 5K Run is an out-and-back along Mt. Lemmon Control Road, with an aid station at the turnaround point. Gradual, rolling hills over relatively easy terrain make this a great run for anyone. The 5K is entirely on dirt roads.

The 8-mile run is set among the granite boulders and oak trees near Arizona Zipline Adventures. It follows dirt roads on the Coronado National Forest 6.2 miles and a particularly scenic portion of the Arizona Trail for 1.8 miles. Runners will also enjoy passing by the historic High Jinks Ranch at the highest point on this course and exiting the Arizona Trail at American Flag Ranch trail head before heading back to the finish.
The run begins along the relatively flat Mt Lemmon Control Road. After 1.7 miles, runners turn left on Campo Bonito Road and begin a gradual climb toward High Jinks Ranch. After 3/4 mile the climb increases in pitch and ascends 400 vertical feet in 1 mile. This is where you'll find liquid refreshment and moral support.
At the high point, runners turn on to the Arizona Trail and enjoy single-track for the next 3.1 miles - past granite boulders, dense oak forest, riparian gallery, and eventually past American Flag Ranch, the oldest standing territorial post office in Arizona. From there, runners hit a short segment of pavement on their way back toward the finish line. There is one more aid station if you're in need of water or nutrition, and the remaining 1.7 miles of dirt road will pass quickly as you make your way back to Arizona Zipline Adventures. After you catch your breath and celebrate your 8-mile accomplishment, a finish line fiesta of epic proportion awaits!
